Hi friends,

10 years ago I had an idea to fulfil a dream. I wanted to help as many organizations across the world as possible and give back to society. One way I thought I could contribute was to create a website that offered free business continuity planning materials. I was a budding business continuity professional at the time and knew nothing about website development – but I’ve always loved a challenge 🙂

After considering domain names and spending a few months researching hosting providers, and learning about website tools – around early 2014 my personal website went live and on 04 February 2014 I took my first screenshot of The Continuity Advisor (TCA):

Now here we are in 2024 and it’s been a wild ride. On 08 July 2021, I decided to turn my personal website into a company and launched additional supporting materials at minimal cost, such as completed examples of the free templates I offered and webinars.

Over the years there have been more than 75,000 visitors on TCA, 40,000 downloads and 46,000 views of my YouTube video “What is business continuity?”. I’ve also had various companies, governments and students across the world reach out and I can honestly say it has been an absolute pleasure and a highlight of my life speaking with them all. I sincerely hope the resources I’ve provided and questions I’ve answered have helped.

After a decade, however, I am now ready to start a new chapter in my life and recently accepted a new job. The job allows me to fulfil another personal dream – to work with my incredible brother and sister-in-law. I love all my family enormously and feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to spend more time with them. My brother is a remarkable person; very kind, thoughtful and always looking after people. My sister-in-law is also fabulous and has a brilliant sense of humour.

After a lot of careful thought and consideration, I have decided to close down The Continuity Advisor Limited. I wanted to give you 3 months notice before I take the website offline so if you have any questions then you have the opportunity to raise these with me (please kindly email: support@thecontinuityadvisor.com and I shall endeavour to respond to you as soon as I am able to).

I want to thank all those who have emailed kind messages over the years and I will continue to do my best to help up until July.

Take care everyone and thank you,

Al
